Parañaque supports senior citizens

Mayor Eric L. Olivarez and First Lady Aileen Claire Olivarez led another successful Kumustahan sa Kalusugan with Lolo and Lola event at the New Barangay San Dionisio Gym in Barangay San Dionisio, Parañaque City last Saturday.

During the program, the two public servants delivered meaningful messages to the senior citizens of Barangay San Dionisio. Mayor Eric emphasized that the local government remains committed to supporting senior citizens by providing numerous programs dedicated to their welfare.

Mayor Olivarez highlighted that the Kumustahan sa Kalusugan is one of the initiatives aimed at identifying the problems and concerns of senior citizens that require attention and action from the local government. The program serves as a platform for open communication and interaction.

As part of the event, City Nutrition Office OIC Dr. Mercy Bunao gave a brief lecture on proper nutrition for senior citizens and shared tips on maintaining a healthy lifestyle. The local government also distributed free multivitamins and medications to senior citizens in partnership with The Generics Pharmacy. Maynilad Water Services Inc. provided free water and prizes to the participants.

Cavitex Infrastructure Corporation, the operator of Cavitex toll highway, also sponsored a breakfast for all attendees of the Kumustahan.

The program was successfully organized by the City Nutrition Office, under the leadership of City Nutrition Action Officer Ms. Aileen Olivarez and CNO OIC Dr. Mercy Bunao. The event was attended by City Health Plan Office Head Dr. Ma. Loreleigh S. Obed, City Health Office Assistant Head Dr. Himmler Cos, Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs Assistant Head Ms. Evelyn Luching, Public Information Office OIC Mr. Catalino B. Alano Jr., External and Homeowners Affairs Office OIC Ms. Connie Zialcita, Special Services Office OIC Ms. Majel Co, and City Environment and Natural Resources Office OIC Mr. Mark Allen Besa.

The barangay council, led by Kagawad Shannin Mae Olivarez, and officials from various senior citizens' associations in the barangay also attended the program, showing their support and active participation in the event.
