San Juan simulates vaccination plan
San Juan City conducted a vaccination simulation at the San Juan gym Thursday as preparation once the 100,000 vaccines procured from AstraZeneca will arrive in the city, according to a report by Manila Bulletin.
Mayor Francis Zamora said the San Juan gym will serve as a main vaccination center and the residents can also visit their barangay health center for vaccination.
Zamora said that in the nine days since the online and manual registration for COVID-19 vaccination started, there were about 11,500 city residents who showed their intentions and willing to receive the vaccine shots.
The city government signed an agreement with the British drugmaker AstraZeneca to procure a total of 100,00 vaccines, enough for 50,000 San Juaneños according to Zamora.
The mayor said the city government still has enough funds in case they still need to buy another batch of vaccines.
“I will be the first to be vaccinated with the AstraZeneca once the vaccines arrive in the city to get the trust of the residents,” Zamora said.
