Taguig wants safe zones in residential areas

Taguig City encourage residential areas to establish safe zones for the use of children and the elderly under the Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine(MECQ).

The city said that private residential establishments such as condominiums, villages and subdivisions, should establish safe zones within their premises for the use of all its residents. Barangays may also identify as safe zones those common spaces and areas under their supervision.

Common areas such as open spaces, gardens, parks, walkways and other similar areas may be designated as a safe zone. All pools, gyms, playgrounds and other leisure areas shall, however, remain closed.

“Designated safe zones shall only be allowed to open upon inspection and clearance by the Task Force or its duly authorized representatives. All barangays and private residential establishments shall apply for inspection and clearance of their designated safe zones with the Taguig Safe City Task Force by sending their requests thru e-mail at safecity@taguiginfo.com,” the advisory said.

It added that during the inspection of the designated safe zone, the barangay or property manager or administrator shall conduct a walk-thru, showing the representatives of the Task Force the measures taken and the protocols in place to ensure that social distancing and other minimum public health standards are complied with and strictly enforced within the designated safe zone.

Once a designated safe zone is allowed to open, property managers or administrators are tasked to limit, regulate and monitor the use of these areas. The space shall not be used for any social gatherings, face masks must be worn at all times, and social distancing must be strictly observed.

All residents shall be allowed to use the designated safe zone. Children aged 12 years and below must be accompanied by an adult. Everyone is advised to strictly observe social distancing and wear face masks at all times.

Only one child with one adult per household shall be allowed at a time. Mingling with neighbors and other children is prohibited.
