Taguig City celebrated Rabies Awareness Month with a Pet Summit 2023 at the TCU Auditorium on March 30. The event had the theme "Rabies-free na Pusa't Aso, Kaligtasan ng Pamilyang Pilipino" and was part of the "Caring City" agenda of Mayor Lani Cayetano to promote the welfare of the city's residents and their pets.

The Office of the City Veterinarian - Taguig spearheaded the event, offering free services for Taguig residents' pets, including deworming, anti-rabies vaccination, vitamin shots, consultation, spaying, and neutering. The Animal Bite Treatment Center also gave free rabies vaccines to prevent the spread of the disease.

Aside from medical services, the event also aimed to promote responsible pet ownership. The Department of Health (Philippines) (DOH) office held a lecture on proper pet care and discussed the "Rabies Prevention and Control Program" with the goal of making the Philippines rabies-free by 2030.
