Taguig, AmCham PH team up to foster business-friendly environment

Taguig City Mayor Lani Cayetano led the City Government’s meeting with the American Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines, Inc. (AmCham) on April 25, as part of AmCham’s LGU Doorknock series held at Kalayaan Hall, SM Aura.

The said meeting aimed to strengthen public-private partnerships and promote Taguig City as a competitive investment destination. During the discussion, AmCham Philippines Executive Director Ebb Hinchliff highlighted how the Chamber can assist Taguig in creating a more business-friendly environment. Among the topics discussed were the ease of doing business in Taguig, incentives for businesses, digitization of services, education and learning programs, sustainability programs, and the city’s various programs.

Participants also shared their best practices and suggestions to help Taguig become a more business-friendly city.

Mayor Lani emphasized that creating a business-friendly policy is part of her vision to make Taguig a Transformative, Lively, and Caring city, where better and more accessible services are available for the people. She believes that this policy can help create jobs, drive innovation, and promote social welfare.

Taguig City has the lowest tax rates in Metro Manila and collected PhP 4.38 billion in business taxes during this year's Business One-Stop Shop (BOSS), marking a PhP 1.17 billion increase from the same period in 2022.

Mayor Lani expressed her commitment to excellence and open-mindedness for further discussions and collaboration with AmCham. The LGU Doorknock series is a significant step towards promoting partnerships and achieving the goal of making Philippine cities more competitive investment destinations.
