Taguig celebrates heritage and culture in flag-raising ceremony
Taguig City - Officials and employees of Taguig City, led by Think Big Taguig, gathered today, May 29, at the City Hall Grounds to celebrate the heritage of Probinsyudad in a flag-raising ceremony. The event showcased the city's commitment to valuing its history, culture, and traditions. Mayor Lani expressed her dedication to preserving the past while embracing modernity during her opening remarks.
On the last Monday of May, recognized as National Heritage Month, the city reflected on significant projects that aim to raise awareness and foster a love for Taguig's culture among its residents. In line with this year's theme, "Heritage: Change and Continuity," the "Pitik Taguig Mobile Photography Contest" was launched, inviting residents to capture the beauty of Taguig using their mobile phones.
The celebration also featured the Meeting of Styles 2023, a grand gathering of local and international visual artists specializing in graffiti, murals, and street art. The event showcased the vibrant art scene in Taguig and provided a platform for artists to express their creativity.
Yesterday, May 28, the city commemorated Araw ng Watawat or the Philippine Flag Day. This day encouraged citizens to proudly display the Philippine flag on every building, symbolizing the country's independence and the nation's ongoing efforts toward a meaningful and prosperous life.
