Taguig receives nutrition award
One of the highlights of the Local Health Board meeting on Tuesday was the announcement and presentation of the City Nutrition Office of Taguig's newest achievement: the Nutrition Honor Award.
City Nutrition Action Officer Ms Julie Bernabe presented before the Local Health Board headed by Mayor Lino Cayetano that the National Nutrition Council (NNC) conferred the Nutrition Honor Award to Taguig for its outstanding performance in nutrition program management reflected in the continued reduction in the prevalence malnutrition in the city.
The Nutrition Honor Award is the highest recognition given by the NNC to a local government unit in recognition of its outstanding nutrition programs anchored on the Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition.
Mayor Lino Cayetano acknowledged the efforts and achievements of administration of former Taguig City Mayor and now 2nd Dist. Rep. Lani Cayetano in nutrition. From 2014-2016, Taguig received the Green Banner Award which is given to an LGU which has shown very satisfactory performance in implementing its nutrition programs. The city is also a 3-year consecutive awardee of the Consistent Regional Outstanding Winner in Nutrition (CROWN) Award.
