Taguig hosts 2023 Coop Icon Awards 

The spirit of cooperation and unity filled the air on October 27 as Taguig City capped off the month-long celebration of Cooperative Month 2023. The Taguig Coop Icon Awards Night 2023, a grand recognition event held at the Taguig Convention Center, New City Hall, shone a spotlight on the outstanding individuals and cooperatives who have made a significant impact in shaping the cooperative community in Taguig.

Taguig, known as the home of the most extensive cooperative communities in the country, boasts a total asset value of P 89.07 billion and is home to 106 active cooperatives. The city's dedication to nurturing a robust cooperative sector aligns seamlessly with its constitutional mandate to champion fairness, social justice, and sustainable economic growth.

During the event, Mayor Lani Cayetano conveyed her appreciation for the hard work and dedication of the 531,162 cooperative members who contribute significantly to the city's pursuit of its "Transformative, Lively, and Caring City" agenda. She highlighted the profound impact that cooperatives have on the community by creating employment opportunities, expanding economic prospects, and promoting local businesses and industries.
