In the realm of legal advocacy for women and children's protection, Taguig's hallmark program, known as Legal Advocacy for Women and Children's Protection (LAWPRO), has made significant strides. This initiative focuses on assisting women and their children facing abusive household and relationship situations, offering them support and protection.
The city has further intensified its commitment to the well-being of its younger residents by establishing a dedicated hotline for Child and Youth Welfare Protection. This vital resource addresses an array of concerns, including cyber threats, sexual exploitation, teenage pregnancy, drug abuse, and human trafficking, ensuring a safe and protective environment for the youth.
In the unrelenting fight against drug abuse, Taguig has employed comprehensive strategies, including drug abuse prevention seminars, mandatory drug tests for government employees, and the enforcement of a stringent one-strike policy. These determined efforts have contributed to Taguig successfully declaring ten barangays as drug-cleared areas.
Mayor Lani Cayetano's administration has also prioritized creating a child-friendly city. Through the development of integrated parks in barangays, the city offers safe spaces for recreation and relaxation, ensuring that Taguigueño children can thrive in an environment conducive to their growth and well-being.
These accolades underscore Taguig's unwavering dedication to progress and inclusive governance. The city remains committed to advancing its programs and policies to create an inclusive, safe, and healthy community for all its constituents.
