In a heartwarming celebration of the Elderly Filipino Week, the Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA Taguig) led a flagraising ceremony. This annual event, which falls on the first seven days of October, has been observed since 1994 to honor the invaluable legacy of Filipino senior citizens.

As a special highlight during the ceremony, Ms. Erlinda Imbao, That's my Lola 2023 1st runner-up, graced the occasion with a winning interpretative dance performance alongside her grandchildren.

Ms. Ramonita Jordan, the Officer-in-charge of OSCA Taguig, expressed her commitment to uphold her office's mandate with honesty and integrity.

In a significant moment, the newly-elected officers of the Taguig Association of Senior Citizens (TASC) took their oath before Mayor Lani Cayetano. The Mayor underscored the importance of seniors as productive members of the community, emphasizing that their experiences and knowledge are valuable contributions to society.

She also reminded attendees that October is a month of multiple observances, including the National Cooperative Month and Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Mayor Cayetano noted the success of the National Cooperative Month kick-off ceremony and highlighted that Taguig is proud to host the largest cooperatives in the country. Additionally, she invited everyone to join in raising awareness about breast cancer through programs like Ating Dibdibin.

As a token of appreciation for their remarkable achievements, LANI scholars and board topnotchers Timothy Regienald Zepeda (No. 1 in the Electrical Engineering Board Exam), Kimberly Dayagro (No. 2 in the Criminology Board Exam), and Angelo Lopez (No. 8 in the Master Electrician Board Exam) received their Special Merit Incentives in recognition of the honor they have brought to the city.
