The Taguig City government has issued reminders on health and safety protocols as cinemas and movie houses reopened in Metro Manila and in the provinces, according to a report by Manila Bulletin.

Taguig Mayor Lino Cayetano, Chairman Benhur Abalos Jr. of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) and Charmaine Bauzon, president of the Cinema Exhibitors Association of the Philippines (CEAP) inspected the Central Square Cinema in Bonifacio Global City on Nov. 11.

“Today signals the opening of cinemas in the NCR. Watched the movie ‘Dune’ with Mayor Lino Cayetano and Ayala Cinemas head Charmaine Bauzon and other officials at the Bonifacio High Street Cinema. Felt very comfortable & safe, knowing that the cinema adhered to all the safety protocols of IATF [Inter-Agency Task Force] & DTI [Department of Trade and Industry], while enjoying a good quality movie,” Abalos posted on Facebook.

The IATF allowed the reopening of cinemas and movie houses in areas under Alert Levels 2 and 3.

Under Alert Level 2, a maximum of 50 percent indoor venue capacity for fully vaccinated individuals and those below 18 years of age, even if unvaccinated, is allowed while in Alert Level 3, a maximum of 30 percent indoor venue capacity for fully vaccinated individuals only is allowed.
