In a proactive initiative to promote dental health and hygiene among its youngest residents, the City of Taguig inaugurated its Intensified Oral Health Campaign at the Taguig Convention Center on Wednesday, October 25. This educational event, designed to raise awareness about the significance of oral care, welcomed 300 participants, including daycare students, parents, and educators representing various barangays within the city.

The day was filled with engaging activities to instill the importance of maintaining oral health. City Health Office personnel led a fluoride varnishing activity, ensuring that children received essential preventive dental care. Alongside this hands-on experience, participants also benefited from enlightening lectures on oral care. The campaign didn't stop there; the organizers introduced interactive games and activities centered around oral health, making the learning process enjoyable for the young audience.

Taguig's commitment to fostering a community with excellent dental health is part of Mayor Lani Cayetano's transformative vision, encapsulated in her "Transformative, Lively, and Caring" agenda. By initiating this campaign, the city underscores its dedication to the well-being of Taguigeños, beginning with proper oral care habits from a young age.

During the event, Mayor Lani Cayetano emphasized the far-reaching impact of dental care on overall health, particularly among the city's children. "Ang ating programa ngayong araw ay ginagawa ng Pamahalaang Lungsod ng Taguig para mapalaganap ang kaalaman sa kahalagahan ng pag-aalaga ng ating ngipin at bibig kasi naka-konekta po ito sa overall health ng ating mga anak," she remarked. Her leadership, dedicated to the betterment of her constituents, is evident in this initiative.

Furthermore, Mayor Lani expressed her appreciation for the support received from Colgate-Palmolive Philippines Inc. The company generously donated 10,000 dental kits to the City Government of Taguig, which will undoubtedly contribute to the ongoing promotion of oral health.

As a delightful conclusion to the event, daycare students were presented with loot bags containing various items, including coloring books, towels, tumblers, and dental kits. These thoughtful tokens serve not only as mementos of the day but also as practical tools to encourage continued dental hygiene practices among the city's youngest members. Taguig's dedication to nurturing the well-being of its residents, even from their earliest years, signifies a forward-looking and caring community.
